Baker Park
Also known as “Baker Field,” this park is a terrific asset to the Noroton Heights neighborhood. It’s right on Noroton Avenue, near the I-95 Exit 10 (between Maple Ave and Casement Street), and has stroller-friendly sidewalks leading up to it from both directions. There’s also a nice big parking lot for those who need to drive there.
The playground has a recently updated playgym as well as picnic tables, and although the park is on a main road the playground is set back and fenced in, so it feels serene and safe there.
Growing up, I only ever went there/knew of it for soccer games – there is a huge field (thus the name Baker Field) that is used for all kinds of youth athletic activites – but now as a mother living in Noroton Heights I appreciate the playground and am looking forward to strolling my baby there when the weather gets warmer. It’s so exciting to have such a great outdoor resource so close to me.
