The Weekend So Huge It’s Got A Name! (Darien Days)

Indulge me in a little creative visualization: this post, jiggling on the page like an impending avalanche, suddenly cracks, like ice, into giant pieces, and the pieces begin to fall off, revealing words and phrases like “Mini Golf!” …. “Carnival” ….. “55 Shops on Sale” “Live entertainment” ….“Rides and Games ….” …“3 Days” … “All Day, All Night Fun”… and then, the explosion: the rest of the page pieces blow apart and we see in gigantic letters across the screen: “Darien Days Weekend, July 10th through 12th, 2008.” And then marquis lights begin to twinkle all around them.  And the song “Celebration” begins to play.  And … okay, I think I’ve probably gone overboard now.. I guess at this point you sit back and think to yourself “wow, Darien has become really FUN!”

Yes, it’s true. in addition to the Sidewalk Sales and Unbelievable Daytime Children’s Entertainment planned for Darien Days all around town, there is also an EVENING CARNIVAL ALL 3 DAYS, complete with amusement park rides, games, food booths, and a DJ.  It’s all going down at Hindley School, as follows:
