Where To Watch Other Towns’ Fireworks from Darien
So I’ve had a few inquiries about whether or not Darien is having fireworks this year: the answer is no. Perhaps it’s because the town is so busy preparing for the following weekend’s bonanza …
Nevertheless, it IS possible to enjoy fireworks from within Darien’s borders if you are fortunate enough to belong or know someone who belongs to Tokeneke or Wee Burn … you will be able to enjoy Rowayton’s Bayley Beach fireworks on July 4th from those beaches; you also might be able to catch East Norwalk’s fireworks at Calf Pasture beach from the Tokeneke beach on July 3rd; and you might POSSIBLY be able to see some of Stamford’s fireworks from Weed Beach on July 3rd, but I can’t guarantee it.
And then, of course, if you have a boat, you can enjoy ALL of the fireworks on both nights from the water!
Finally, for some land-locked fun, don’t miss New Canaan’s Waveny Park fireworks event, taking place on July 4th with a raindate of July 5th. The park’s gates open at 5 PM and entertainment is offered from 5:30-8:30 PM with SKY DIVERS landing at 7 PM. Admission is $30 for residents and $60 for non-residents, per car or group. INSIDER TIP: Wear comfortable shoes, pack light and be prepared to WALK WALK WALK WALK WALK – parking extends way out beyond the park entrance, and unless you get there really early you’re in for a major trek. The payoff is worth it, however — it’s a spectacular show!
