As I sit here in anticipation of tropical storm Hannah, wondering what to expect and whether or not it will even be a big deal, it occurred to me that it might be useful to gather together all of the information I can find on Darien’s emergency services for quick and easy reference for all of us.
You might want to bookmark this post, as I will be adding to it each time I come across additional information or resources; and I’m hoping readers with knowledge or tips will contribute by posting comments as well.

ONLINE
For up-to-the-minute updates on potential floods or flooding and information from town officials (as well as pictures when possible), the new and improved Darien Times website.
VIA TELEPHONE, RADIO, TV AND OTHER MEDIA
– If you’re registered for Darien’s Reverse 9-1-1 program, emergency alerts, notifications and instructions will be sent to you via telephone recording on a best effort basis.
– Also, according to the Darien Office of Emergency Management website:
