Tuesday Movie Nights at Tilley Pond, Official Scoop

AllAboutDarien.com is pleased to be the official information site for Darien’s “Star-Gazing” Nights, Movies Under The Stars at Tilley Pond Park. With a giant movie screen set up (former Manhattanites might remember movie nights at Bryant Park?) and Gofer Ice Cream and buttered popcorn on-hand, I can’t think of a cooler way to enjoy a summer evening in one of my favorite Parks in Darien!

NEWLY-ADDED to these evenings is live music from 6pm to 8pm, plus The Bridgeport Sound Tigers mascot who will be on-hand to chaperone the slapshot machine they will be setting up!  (They won’t be there on Casablanca night, but for all others they will be!)

June 16 — Fletch — a classic 80′s comedy starring Chevy Chase.  For more, click here.

July 14 — Ghostbusters — another classic 80′s comedy starring Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Harold Ramis, Rick Moranis, Sigourney Weaver, Annie Potts, and Ernie Hudson.  For more, click here.

August 11 — Casablanca — a classic, American romantic drama starring Humphrey Bogart, Ingrid Bergman and Paul Henreid and featuring Claude Rains, Conrad Veidt, Sydney Greenstreet and Peter Lorre. Set during World War II, it focuses on a man torn between, in the words of one character, love and virtue. He must choose between his love for a woman and helping her and her Resistance leader husband escape from the Vichy-controlled Moroccan city of Casablanca to continue his fight against the Nazis. September 15 — Miracle — a 2004 American biographical sports film about the United States men’s hockey team, led by head coach, Herb Brooks, that won the gold medal in the 1980 Winter Olympics. The USA team’s victory over the heavily favored Soviet team in the medal round was dubbed the Miracle on Ice. For more, click here.
