Volunteer Information For Teens
I am so excited to introduce you to my friend Liv, who is currently a sophomore at DHS, has lived in Darien since she was 2 years old, and has generously agreed to lend a teen perspective to AllAboutDarien.com. From where to find the latest fashion trends in Fairfield County to what’s good to know about life as a teen in and around Darien, Liv hopes her contributions will be helpful to teens … and maybe parents, too!
Here is her first Tip:
Attention teens seeking volunteer opportunities for college resumes! The Darien Library is starting a new program called “Juniors Helping Seniors”, where teens will be able to help adults learn various computer skills, such as setting up an email account or sharing pictures with relatives! The program begins this September, email Sarah.
Another good (and not to mention pretty fun!) volunteer opportunity for teens is Kids in Crisis. These are meetings held once a month at The Depot (the first Thursday at 6:30) to plan events for kids from local foster homes to give them a chance to relax! I’ve been to a couple of these meetings myself, and I think they’re a fun and easy way to give back to the community. You can call (203) 327-KIDS to get involved!
If you would like to add your teen volunteer opportunity to this post, please email us!
Congratulations on your first post, Liv! xo
Comments for Liv can be directed through me, and I will post them here on your behalf.
