A Don’t Miss For Parents of Pre-schoolers

The YWCA Parent Awareness Network presents
“IS MY CHILD READY FOR KINDERGARTEN?”
A Panel Discussion

Wednesday, November 18th 9:15- 11:00 AM

Is your child ready for Kindergarten? What does he/she need to know to flourish in school? How have expectations changed, and when, if ever, should a child be held back or moved ahead? You know your child better than anyone else, but you may still have concerns about his/her preparedness for entering the next level of learning and socialization.

The YWCA Parent Awareness Network has gathered a panel of experts on early childhood, readiness, expectations and realities, and the next step. Join them at the Town Hall Auditorium on Wednesday, November 18h from 9:15-11:00 AM.

Dr. Judith Pandolfo, Assistant Superintendent of Elementary Education for the Darien Public Schools, will moderate the panel. The panelists include Ann Novotnik, a Kindergarten Teacher at Holmes School, Edna Ventarola, a Pre-K teacher at Noroton Presbyterian Church, Mary Skinner, ELP psychologist, Laura Straiton, ELP Assistant Principal and Rita Ferri, Principal of Hindley School. The presentation is essential for any parent of a preschool aged child. Come with your questions.

The program, provided free of charge, is geared towards parents of preschool aged children and is sponsored by the YWCA Parent Awareness Network and The Darien Public Schools. Parent Awareness, which receives support from the Community Fund of Darien, is a YWCA program that promotes the healthy, positive development of Darien youth and families.
