Since the spring of 2007, AllAboutDarien.com has served as a “good-to-know guide” for and about the Darien community.

Created by Nicole Lyons, a current Darien resident who also grew up in town, AllAboutDarien.com promotes a vibrant local economy by offering insider perspectives and useful information to help both residents, and visitors, make the most of their Darien experience.

The “site” was originally conceived to be much more participation-based, a-la-Craigslist: as in, if you build it, everyone will come and post their tips, secrets, shortcuts, etc.  When it became clear that the community was depending on the site’s creator to drive the content, the “website” became a “blog.”

Today, while Contributing Insiders and people who comment on posts and participate in the forum are helping to round out the content that makes AllAboutDarien.com a go-to community resource, it is Nicole’s voice and personal commitment to sharing her own experiences and discoveries – as a mother and a resident  – that appears to be creating loyalty and attracting new visitors every day.

About Nicole

Nicole Meloy Lyons is a former “Dot Commer,” having participated first-hand in the internet’s evolution over the last decade into a powerful marketing and communications platform for businesses and consumers alike. During her career she has provided web-based marketing, advertising and CRM solutions for companies including Kimberly Clark, Eli Lilly, The Coca-Cola Company, Johnson & Johnson, Viacom, and AETN. Nicole brings to this “blogazine” and her clients more than 15 years of experience in all facets of the internet.

In 2009, Nicole was awarded “Volunteer Member of the Year” by the Darien Chamber of Commerce, and named one of Fairfield County’s “40 Under 40” by the Fairfield County Business Journal.

Nicole also teaches web marketing workshops and social media training classes. She is available for consulting and/or speaking engagements throughout Fairfield County and beyond.
