Darien Boy Scouts Tag Sale Scoop

Categories: Community, Inside Scoop, and Public Announcements.

So if you’ve never been to the Darien Boy Scouts Annual Tag Sale, I can tell you it is truly a bonanza tag sale event.  We’re talking indoor furniture, outdoor furniture, toys, fabrics, sports equipment (last year there were jet skis!), lawnmowers, electronics, jewelry, bikes, strollers, and more.  It’s a really fun experience that everybody in town/ the area should at least “do” once, and it’s for a great cause. This year the tag sale is on Sunday, May 1st, at the Andrew Shaw Memorial Cabin on West Avenue, from 8:30 to 4pm. But here’s a tip: if you’re in

Great Spots For Sledding

Categories: Inside Scoop.

When the weather outside is snowy but not too frightful, we like to think about sledding. Here are some of our favorite sledding spots in town. Baker Park (Noroton Ave)—There’s a great big hill for sledding that opens onto the soccer field so there’s plenty of room.  It’s a steep hill to climb back up for the little ones, but it’s a great hill for most ages. Town Hall (2 Renshaw Road)—There’s a short but fun sledding hill on Renshaw in the parking lot  but it requires a bit of attention since the bottom of the hill has a curb

Rock and Roll in Dowtown Darien Tonight!

Categories: Uncategorized.

Music will be in the air tonight as part of Darien’s Thursday night concert series: kicking it off will be Short Bus, performing a free concert from 6pm to 9pm at Grove Street Plaza, which is the little cobblestone square and fountain outside of The Melting Pot and La Gravenese Jewelers.  This band has a major following, so expect it to be packed, but it should be TONS of fun on this cool summer night. It’s also a great excuse to have dinner on the town followed a healthy Robeks smoothie dessert or creamy Gofer ice cream cone.  Quick note:
