CONGRATULATIONS to the Darien Library for launching an amazing new website. It really represents the level of excellence our library has achieved (and received awards for!). In addition to a fresh and easy-to-navigate look and feel, the new website offers interactive features like an ability to rate and review your favorite books, movies and music as well as blogs and other community features. You’ve got to check it out: it’s a definite bookmarker (get it?!)
I have to admit that, when it comes to flyers and circulars that arrive by mail, I tend to sift through them with barely a glance and then toss them into the trash (recycling bin, of course). But thankfully, the colors of this brochure (designed by local artist Agata Lipnicka) caught my eye and I gave it a second glance.
For some reason, in my mind, “continuing education” has always suggested an extension of one’s college studies, or some other heavily academic pursuit like an additional degree … but as I flipped through the pages of the brochure and saw classes like Tap, Pottery, Women and Money, Self-hypnosis Workshop and Fitness Boot Camp, I realized how incorrect my perception of continuing ed was!
So I’m excited to share this information with any of you who missed the brochure in the mail (non-Darien residents are welcome, too!) because for a very small cost and limited committment of time, we grown-ups can create a little space in our busy lives for some personal enrichment. You’ve got to check it out!
