Do you love Darien’s beaches? Are you proud of how Weed Beach has been developed and improved over the years? Do you and your children enjoy the playground on the beach? Do you believe that the quality of our beaches, Weed Beach especially, elevates the appeal of Darien to homebuyers and ultimately increases property value?
You may have noticed over the past few years that, following some major storms, the quality of the sand at Weed beach has deterioriated, and it has been washed away from portions of the playground creating bare spots beneath the swings, slides and exposing other areas surrounding it.
The good news is: there is budget to replace the sand! The Board of Finance just needs to be reassured that this is an important issue to a significant number of residents before finalizing the budget on March 10th.
Translation: IF YOU AGREE THAT NEW SAND WOULD BE A TERRIFIC WAY TO ENHANCE WEED BEACH, WE NEED YOU TO SAY SO!
If you could simply send an email to the group below, letting them know how much you value Weed Beach and that you support replacing the sand this year — even just that one sentence, signed with your name and mailing address (to prove residency) — the entire community will be grateful to you!
